About GEORGE FORTU
Being physically fit is one of the requirements when we want to be healthy or feel inspired to perform better. When we participate in sports activities we must also be prepared to participate mentally.
I am George Forțu, a specialist in sports psychology, passionate about people, mental and physical health.
I am a graduate of the Faculty of Psychology at Titu Maiorescu University, I graduated the master’s program in Psychotraumatology and Psychological Assistance at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Bucharest and I am a member of the Romanian College of Psychologists.
Changing attitudes and compartments, increasing confidence in one's abilities, understanding one’s emotions, blockages and using them to increase the level of resilience, motivation, education and character development necessary to achieve sports performance are just some of the reasons that inspired me to understand in more detail the structures of the human psyche.
My personal commitment to continuous professional development and the complexity of the functioning mechanisms of the human psyche determined me to become a relational psychoanalytic psychotherapist following the training program of the Insight Association.
At the same time, I am a certified trainer of ANC, the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Education, also a nationally and European recognized certification. I have the ability to motivate others, the patience and flexibility to work with different clients and I believe that optimal results are obtained with a methodical approach to the effort involved in the transformation process.
I am a career consultant certified by the G.C.D.F. (Global Career Development Facilitator) and practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming because mental training is one of the important factors to become an excellent specialist in psychological counseling.
I became a negotiator following the negotiation course at the International Law Enforcement Academy (I.L.E.A.) Budapest, Hungary and participated as an instructor in five national competitions, two international meetings and two national psychology symposia.
But I’m more than a sports psychologist, I’m also an athlete. I started as an amateur athlete, I practiced strength training for 22 years, for more than 10 years I was a member of professional basketball and hockey teams, I am a marathon runner. Active participation and long contact with the sports world have given me valuable perspectives on the mental functioning of professional athletes.
The experience of a performance athlete complemented by years of rigorous academic study convinced me that each of us needs specialized help to transform our lives.
I am also a personal trainer and fitness instructor. I specialize in personalized workouts for both bodybuilding and increasing muscle mass, cardio, fitness, improving mobility and flexibility, as well as programs for weight loss and body reshaping.
Over the years of practice, helping many people to achieve their own optimal performance, we have offered specialized help, inspiration and creative strength. Whether you are an amateur or professional athlete, playing recreational sports or competing for a podium place in professional competitions, whether you are a parent or a coach, you can benefit from psychological interventions.
I am with you in changing your lifestyle towards sustainable health, goals achieved and healthy relationships.
